Dolgo Flowering Crab Apple
A most popular selection of crab apple proving a flowering accent tree as well as abundant, small red apples that can be used in preserves. The white flowers emerge from pink buds and cover the tree. This hardy tree needs a second pollinator nearby from another malus family to bear fruit. It will need some maintenance as the apples will fall and apples need be pruned to maintain an open, sound structure.

Preferred Site
Full sun. Well drained, moist soil. Must not dry out. Needs space as it is a fairly large tree. Locate where falling apples will not interfere with traffic.
Maintenance Notes
Prune in late winter after coldest days passed. Needs a pollinator from another malus family nearby.
